Delicious Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe - Quick & Easy1

Ingredients:
For the Bolognese sauce:
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 carrot, finely diced

  • 1 celery stalk, finely diced

  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef (or half beef, half pork)

  • 400g (14 oz) canned diced tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • ½ cup beef broth (or red wine for extra depth)

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1 bay leaf

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, to balance acidity)

  • ½ cup whole milk (optional, for richness)

  • 400g (14 oz) spaghetti

  • Salt (for boiling water)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

  • Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:
  1. Sauté the veggies: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until softened (about 5 minutes).

  2. Brown the meat: Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. Simmer the sauce: Stir in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, beef broth (or wine), oregano, basil, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 30-45 minutes (the longer, the better). Stir occasionally.

  4. Add milk (optional): Stir in milk and let simmer for another 10 minutes to make the sauce creamy and rich.

  5. Cook the pasta: While the sauce simmers, cook spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  6. Combine & Serve: Toss the spaghetti with the sauce or serve the sauce on top. Garnish with Parmesan and fresh basil/parsley.
