
Homemade Pizza Margarita Recipe – Authentic Italian Classic
Ingredients:
For the Dough (2 medium pizzas):
3 ½ cups (450g) all-purpose flour
1 ¼ cups (300ml) warm water
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp instant yeast (or 1 packet active dry yeast)

For the Sauce:
1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes or fresh tomatoes (blended)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp dried oregano or fresh basil
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Make the Dough
Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5–10 min until frothy.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil; knead for 8–10 min until smooth and elastic.
Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
2. Prepare the Sauce
Heat olive oil in a pan; sauté garlic for 30 sec.
Add tomatoes, oregano/basil, salt, and pepper; simmer 15–20 min until thickened.
3. Shape & Assemble Pizza
Preheat oven to 250°C (480°F) with a pizza stone or tray inside.
Punch down dough, divide in two, roll out thinly.
Spread sauce over dough, add mozzarella pieces evenly.
4. Bake
Bake 7–10 min until crust is golden and cheese melts.
5. Serve
Top with fresh basil and drizzle olive oil. Slice and enjoy!
